I have severe lower back pain and I am thinking about getting a teeter hang ups (inversion table).? Can anybody that has used one of these things please tell me how they worked for you? Did it help relieve your back pain?

Diane B replied: "They work only temporarily. If gravity works one way it will work the other way too. But once you are back upright, gravity will once again work. Have your orthopeadic doctor assess you for an epidural steroid injection in the spine. I had two bad discs in 1984. I couldn't even walk the pain was so bad. I had an epidural and it lasted four years -- then I had another in 1988 and I haven't had one now in 18 years so they work well."

IplayadoconTV replied: "The inversion table made my pain much worse. Of course, my back pain was being caused by a herniated disk. Most of the inversion tables and boots are really hard on your knees. I had just about every therapy known short of surgery. The best result I got was from acupuncture."

f1mudvayne29 replied: "Back pain is usually made worse by inactivity or too much work or carrying extra weight. Two of these can be resolved by healthy lifestyle changes. The other may or may not be able to be resolved with a different approach to work. Before you invest in equipment, try simple back and leg stretches to see if that will help relieve some of your suffering."

Does the teeter hang up really work? My boyfriend's stepdad has back problems and was looking into buying an inversion table. Any other suggestions of good inversion tables with results?

Do the Teeter Hang Up tables work as well as they say on TV? I'm 21 and I've been having back pain since I was 17. Originally, I had an x-ray and it came back negative, so I was sent to a physical therapist for muscle therapy in my back. It never really got much better. When I was 18, I had a DO align my spine and it popped like crazy. Felt amazing for awhile, but slowly it started to hurt again. I ended up losing my insurance, so I haven't been back. The vertabrae in my back around my shoulders just below my neck feel bigger than I remember..I'm wondering if they are out of place. NEEDLESS to say, I need to go to my doctor to have my neck checked out, but that doesn't explain the muscle pain in my lower back since I was 17. I'm wondering if those tables actually work.

Aces replied: "You really need to see a physician who can do an MRI, to see if there is any disc bulge or herniation. If diagnostic test are too expensive and outside your budget ( since you have no insurance ), try alternative medicine. Accupunture may help. I had a friend who was partially disabled after a serious motor vehicle accident and met a Qigong Master, who helped him with energy recovery, healing and pain management. what is a teeter hang up exercize thing..? its sopposed to be for your back of something anyone know how to use it? it has this place to put your feet an you hang upside down but is that all you are sopposed to do?

I have heard marvellous feedback about such things but have yet to try one out for myself (I'd like to find one that I can experiment on first before dropping a few hundred bucks to buy one ...). By my understanding, one can lock their feet in, tip backwards on the table and then hang upside down (which, in theory, straightens the spine and eases back pain ...). One could also twist from side to side while hanging or (should you get really advanced ...) even do upside-down sit-ups!"

Teeter Inversion Table? Where can I get the cheapest inversion table? I found the Teeter Hang Ups F5000 for $249.99 at amazon.com but I was wondering if there was cheaper.

i really want to be 6 feet tall? hi i am 16 yr old male 5 foot 8 and really want to be 6 feet tall when done growing. Is there anything i can do to make this happen in my future height. Can yoga help or stretching also i have read that using teeter hang ups can increase height is this true. plz help me achive my goal ( don't judge me everyone has goals right)

cassie replied: "you can't change your genetics you'll probably end up tall if you have tall parents but i don't think any kind of exercise will help, just eat healthy and get lots of protein, iron, calcium, etc so that you don't have any growing problems."

winterknight72 replied: "None of those will help, but will help you in other things. How tall is your dad? We need more info. On average males are around 2 to 3 inches taller than there dad's My dad is 6 foot, my mom is a shorty at around 5'4" 5'5" but I turned out to be 6'4" but no, there is no special diet, exerciser or anything like that will make any difference on how tall you will be. All of those will make you healthier but wont do much for your height. There is always surgery though. where they break your legs every couple of weeks and stretch them, sounds very painful but they do that in China since shorter people are considered less desirable as for dating and some jobs."

Charanjit replied: "Yoghurt, cheese, and boiled chicken. Your bones need phosphorus, calcium, and magnesium while your muscles need water, protein and carbohydrates to grow. Since you are growing taller, both your muscles and bones are getting bigger and longer. Don't waste your money or your health on drugs, alcohol or cigarettes. Have the hair style that makes you appear taller. In order to appear taller, a hair style should be thin at the sides and higher up top, which can make you appear as much as an inch taller Avoid clothes with horizontal lines. Belts are horizontal so make sure you conceal it in your clothes. Avoid clothes with a tartan or checked pattern. Avoid cuffs that makes your legs appear shorter. • Wear clothes with vertical lines or striping. Vertical lines or stripping make a person appear thinner, and thinness in turn gives impression of more height. Wear shoes that will make you appear taller. If you are a female, this should be easy since you can find a lot of female shoes with 2 or 3 inches’ heels. For males, wear shoes with thick soles to add the illusion of height. To increase your height, it is important that your blood is oxygenated as blood provides nourishment to your bones. Regular breathing will also purify your blood. There are three phases to breathing: 1. Inhaling - take in air into your body through the nose 2. Retaining - hold your breath inside your body 3. Sleep with clean, soft, and comfortable clothes. Keep your hands and feet warm. Scientific studies have shown that warm hands and feet will help induce REM (rapid eye movement) deep sleep. Cold hands and feet will keep you from deep sleep. Drink a big glass of water before going to bed and when you wake up; this will help clean out your system. Practice total relaxation and deep breathing for a few minutes before you go to bed. Relax from head to toe. Close your eyes and relax every part of your body. Maintain a habit of sleeping at the same time everyday, including weekends. Sleep on your back with a flat pillow under your knees. This will align your spine properly and prevent any back aches caused by sleeping in a bent position. Undoubtedly, the quality, quantity, and type of food we eat affect our height, growth, and health. We cannot emphasize enough how important your food intake is in determining how much growth you can possibly obtain. The types of food you eat will either improve or decrease your growth potential. After careful consideration and research, the daily content of protein, carbohydrates, fats and water can be achieved if the following items were taken regularly.
